Guided Meditations

Introduction to using these meditation recordings

These audio recordings are given as series of statements with a five second gap between each statement.
I recommend you use your phone or a device that is easy to pause during the gaps, then resume playing when you feel ready for the next statement.
The amount of time you pause and practice between statements is up to you, some statements will resonate some may not.                                                              When something resonates; consider investigating more deeply before moving on to the next statement.
Please take your time, be curious and consider the ideas presented. You may find what seemed uninteresting at first later becomes a rich area of discovery.

I prefer walking while using these recordings, but sitting in a quiet room or some other setting might work better for you.

#1 Always Already, Guided Meditation   4:45
I developed this guided meditation from Ken Wilbur's chapter 12, of his book:  The Eye of Spirit.                    You can read the entire Chapter 12 (highly recommended) by clicking on Ken Wilber, 'Always Already' in the menu at the top of this page.

Notes on the concepts in this recording:
Because our attention is usually so identified with the drama of what is arising in our awareness we miss the obvious; the Witnessing presence of Awareness itself.

Wilbur describes Witnessing Awareness:

"Who or What is this true Seer, this pure Witness, which is at the very core of what I am?
That simple witnessing awareness, the traditions maintain, is Spirit itself, is the enlightened mind itself, is Buddha-nature itself, is God itself, in its entirety."

Could it really be so simple, what we are searching for is always already here?

"I am aware of sensations in my body; those are objects, I am not those. I am aware of thoughts in my mind; those are objects, I am not those. I am aware of my self in this moment, but that is just another object, and I am not that. Sights float by in nature, thoughts float by in the mind, feelings float by in the body, and I am none of those. I am not an object. I am the pure Witness of all those objects. I am Consciousness as such."

I hope this Guided Meditation can help us recognize our true nature as Witnessing Awareness, that is so obscured by our conditioned mind. Thank you Ken Wilbur.
